Jesse Schelling

Hey there! My name is Jesse Schelling, and I am currently a junior Elementary Education major at Dordt College with an endorsement in middle school Science and English! For this unit, I wrote the English lessons dealing with the research project, as well as the Somalia History lesson. I am married to the beautiful Stephanie Lynn Schelling, and we are currently expecting our first child in June of 2013! In my spare time, I enjoy singing, lifting, playing sports, hanging out with my family and friends, watching movies, playing video games, and spending time outdoors. In the future, I hope to teach in a Christian school where I will develop my students through love and enthusiasm. If you have any questions about this unit, feel free to shoot me an email at jssschll@dordt.edu.

Jeff VanderMolen

My name is Jeff VanderMolen and I look forward to being one of your tour guides as we travel through Eastern Africa. Speaking of tour guides, each and every one of us is guided daily by Jesus Christ. My journey started in Western Michigan in the year 1991. Before I was born, God had a plan for me to become a teacher. Currently, I am studying at Dordt College with the intentions of becoming a Middle School Math or Social Studies teacher. I hope this unit plan allows you to develop your knowledge, but more importantly, recognize God’s call for us to restore his creation. I look forward to being one of your tour guides as we explore Eastern Africa.

Amber Vander Veen

Hello fellow safari hunters!

I'm Amber Vander Veen and I'm currently a senior at Dordt College with a Secondary Education major in the areas of Biology and Chemistry.  I wrote all of the science lessons and the physical geography lessons on Somalia and Ethiopia.  I absolutely love being in the great outdoors because that is were I feel closest to God and can experience His awe inspiring creation. I also greatly enjoy reading fantasy books, crocheting, taking long walks, playing goal keeper in soccer, and hanging out with my friends.  I love to spend time relaxing with a good cup of coffee in a coffee shop, while chatting and laughing with friends.
